Images for easing minds in hospitals

I'll start by first saying I'm not normally a morning person. I had an urge to create a series that spoke to a sense of calm I needed though. My childhood is full of memories of a lake. The memory of the waves coming up to the beach and rhythmically lapping onto the sand was equal parts playful and mesmerizing. For the seven consecutive mornings in 2008 I woke up while overlooking Lake Ontario and made an image from my vantage point. I had just found Hiroshi Sugimoto's seascape work about time and found it enthralling. Henry David Thoreau also found solace at Walden Pond:

We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.

WellBEing Spring Mixer

I had the opportunity of hanging out with Jill as she put together her WellBEing Spring Mixer a few weeks ago. Here's a quick video from the event with images provided by myself.

WellBEing Spring Mixer 2016

Sponsored by Metro Juice and Nash's Kombucha a select number of attendees enjoyed this private event held on a lake in the Pocket area.

Make sure to check back with Jill soon to learn about upcoming events she has planned for the wellness community in the Sacramento area or if you are interested in signing up in her annual resource guide.
